1. Scope and Publication Schedule<\/h3>

Revista Portuguesa de Humanidades <\/em>(RPH) publishes a yearly thematic issue<\/strong>. A limited number of off-topic articles may be accepted in the Varia<\/em> section<\/strong> of each issue. The submission deadline for the next Thematic Issue is 1 June of 2026.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>

2. Article Types<\/h3>

  1. Sample Articles<\/strong>: Download our formatted example<\/strong><\/a> (complete version and blind version<\/strong><\/a>) to see how your manuscript should look before submission.<\/p><\/li>

  2. Original Articles<\/strong>: Unpublished research of recognised scholarly merit.<\/p><\/li>

  3. Book Reviews<\/strong> and other shorter contributions can be submitted.<\/p><\/li><\/ol>

    3. General Requirements<\/h3>
    1. Originality<\/strong> \u2013 Manuscripts must be unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.<\/li>
    2. Length<\/strong> \u2013 Maximum 10,000 words<\/strong>, including footnotes and bibliography.<\/li>
    3. Languages<\/strong> \u2013 Portuguese, English, Italian, German, French, or Spanish.<\/li>
    4. File format<\/strong> \u2013 Submit in .doc<\/code> or .docx<\/code>.<\/li>
    5. Structure<\/strong>
      1. Cover Sheet<\/strong> (separate file for blind review)
        1. Article title (regular capitals)<\/li>
        2. Author name(s) and institutional affiliation(s)<\/li>
        3. Contact e-mail<\/li>
        4. Author Orcid(s)<\/li>
        5. Abstract (\u2264 1,250 characters, English only)<\/li>
        6. Keywords (4\u20138, English, alphabetical order)<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
        7. Body Text<\/strong> divided into numbered sections
          1. All references in footnotes<\/li>
          2. Conclude with a Bibliography<\/em><\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><\/li>
          3. Blind Version<\/strong> \u2013 Provide a second file with all author-identifying data removed.<\/li><\/ol>

            4. Style and References<\/h3>

            RPH follows Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed., Full-Note system<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>
