Introducing Our New Hybrid Open Access Model<\/h4><p>In response to the evolving landscape of scholarly communication and the growing demand for broader visibility of academic research, <em>Revista Portuguesa de Humanidades<\/em>, published by Axioma \u2013 Publica\u00e7\u00f5es da Faculdade de Filosofia, is pleased to announce a significant innovation: a <strong>Hybrid Open Access<\/strong> publication option.<\/p><p>Traditionally operating on a pay-per-view basis\u2014through institutional subscriptions (e.g., JSTOR, EBSCO) or direct purchase\u2014the journal now offers authors the possibility to publish their work Open Access, while preserving its rigorous editorial standards and double-blind peer review process.<\/p><p>Our goal is to ensure that high-quality philosophical research reaches the widest possible global audience. The journal is indexed and referenced by the following databases:<\/p><ul data-spread=\"false\"><li><p><em>Dialnet<\/em> (Spain)<\/p><\/li><li><em>Latindex<\/em> (Mexico)<\/li><li><p><em>ERIH PLUS<\/em> (Norway)<\/p><\/li><li><p><em>Crossref Database<\/em> (USA)<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h4>II. What Is Changing?<\/h4><p><strong>1) Traditional Access Options Remain<\/strong><br \/>We continue to offer pay-per-view and subscription access via institutional platforms and direct purchase.<\/p><p><strong>2) A New Open Access Option<\/strong><br \/>Authors may choose to make their articles Open Access by paying a one-time fee of <strong>1,500 \u20ac<\/strong> (VAT applicable), enabling free global access and sharing under a Creative Commons license.<\/p><h4>III. Why Choose Hybrid Open Access?<\/h4><p><strong>1) Increased Visibility<\/strong><br \/>Open Access enhances reach and citation impact, making research immediately available to a broader audience.<\/p><p><strong>2) Compliance with Funders<\/strong><br \/>This model meets Open Access mandates set by many funding bodies.<\/p><p><strong>3) Uncompromised Quality<\/strong><br \/>All articles, whether Open Access or not, undergo the same peer-review and editorial procedures.<\/p><p><strong>4) Licensing<\/strong><br \/>Open Access articles follow the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, ensuring proper attribution and ethical reuse.<\/p><h4>IV. How It Works<\/h4><p><strong>1) Submission<\/strong><br \/>Authors submit through our standard portal. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.<\/p><p><strong>2) Post-Acceptance Choice<\/strong><br \/>Once accepted, authors choose between traditional or Open Access publishing.<\/p><p><strong>3) Publication<\/strong><br \/>All accepted articles are published in the same volume. Open Access articles are marked and immediately accessible online.<\/p><h4>V. Balancing Tradition and Innovation<\/h4><p>Since 1997, <em>Revista Portuguesa de Humanidades<\/em> has supported scholarly excellence. The introduction of a Hybrid Open Access option reflects our commitment to tradition while embracing the needs of today\u2019s academic environment.<\/p><h4>VI.
